Soapstone is a metamorphic rock, known by geologists as talc-schist.
Commonly believed to have a soothing, balancing effect while creating a positive, calming energy. Soapstone is valued for it the way it helps one prepare for changes in life. It is also thought to promote truth, logic as well as rational and creative thinking.
ABOUT SOAPSTONE: Natural Kenyan soapstone is mostly white, but it has variations in color (yellowish, pinkish) due to weathering of the aluminum-rich minerals in the rock. These hearts will show such variations, for each piece is unique. Due to this, I cannot guarantee you'll get a color tone of your preference.

These were beautifully packaged with extra little notecards and a bookmark describing the item and the Reiki, etc. It even came with a bonus Eye of the Tiger stone. Lots of attention to detail and beautiful gift for yourself or someone else.
I love these stones and the description that comes with them. I give them to my university students as they graduate from their undergraduate program and enter their graduate program. I tell them that the soapstone represents who they are at this point in time--a work in progress. They love the thought and it lessens their fears that they will not be "good enough" for graduate studies.
